Volume 4 Afterwords
Afterwords
Thank you very much for picking up Volume 4 of Story About Buying My Classmate Once A Week
This work is the ln version that was originally serialized on the web, with additions, revisions, and new material added before being published as a book.
Once again, thanks to illustrations by U35-sensei featuring Miyagi and Sendai, Volume 4 has been released.
Volume 4 is also the volume that marks a major turning point: Miyagi and Sendai graduating from high school.
I feel relieved that we were able to release it safely.
Now, before the release of Volume 4, something wonderful happened!
Once a Week I Buy a Classmate ranked 8th in the paperback category of the “Tsugirano” (Next Light Novel Awards 2023)!
To everyone who supported us, thank you so much.
Following Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024 (“This Light Novel is Amazing! 2024”), we managed to rank again. I’m truly happy.
On the special website for Story About Buying My Classmate Once A Week, a newly written side story commemorating the rankings in both Tsugirano and Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! has been posted, so I hope you will read it.
Since the decision to publish Once a Week I Buy a Classmate in 2022, so many things have happened up to today.
U35-sensei agreed to draw the illustrations, Migi-hara-sensei agreed to handle the manga adaptation, and voices were given to Miyagi and Sendai…
Including the rankings in Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! and Tsugirano, so much has happened that time has flown by at explosive speed, and in the blink of an eye it became 2024.
Even after the new year began, there have been many exciting things, and the past few days have felt very short.
Up until now, ShūKura (the abbreviated title) participated in several contests, but we were never able to reach publication.
We were always just one step short, or we were told it didn’t match the label’s style.
Many other things happened as well, but the fact that the story of Miyagi and Sendai became a book is thanks to all of you who found and read ShūKura.
Without your support, we could not have passed the reader selection in the 7th Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest, nor could we have continued releasing new volumes.
Thank you so very much!
And there is something I want to tell my supervising editor…
Participating in contests with ShūKura was meant to end with the 7th Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest.
If my editor had not discovered ShūKura, it would never have been published.
Thank you so much. I am truly grateful!
I’m not very good at conveying things like this, and while I kept missing the right timing to tell my editor, we have now reached Volume 4. The only path left was to thank them publicly, which I have now accomplished.
Finally, to everyone who has read Volume 4, everyone who has supported us on the web, U35-sensei, my supervising editor, and everyone who has been involved with this work in various ways: my heartfelt gratitude to you all.
And my thanks to my friend N. Thank you for always listening to my worries!
With that, I hope we can meet again in the afterword of Volume 5!
