Volume 5 Afterwords

Thank you for picking up volume 5 of "The Story of Buying a Classmate Once a Week."  

Once again, this volume is being released alongside Miyagi and Sendai, drawn by U35-sensei. 

As teased in volume 4, Miyagi and Sendai have become university students.  

When the book adaptation of "Shuukura" was decided, one of my goals was to reach the "university arc" in print, so I feel deeply moved.  

I hope you will enjoy the story of Miyagi and Sendai in their new environment as well.

Now, let me rewind a little to talk about the time around the release of volume 4...  

Everyone, have you listened to the voice dramas?

I am truly grateful that I was given the chance to write the scripts, and I packed them full of lines I wanted to hear in Miyagi and Sendai's voices.  

Yes. Lines that the two of them often say, or Sendai speaking with "nyan" at the end of her sentences.

It is the best.

I wish I could have made Miyagi end her sentences with "nyan" too, but at times like that she turns into the impregnable Miyagi, so it was impossible (lol).  

If there is another opportunity like this, I am thinking I would like to have Miyagi do something then too!

There are three voice dramas in total available on the special website for Shuukura, including limited ones that you can listen to by answering quizzes, so if you have not listened to them yet, I would be happy if you check the special site.

Around the time of volume 4's release, in addition to the voice dramas, they also made a PV for us.

This PV was even shown at Animate Vision Ikebukuro before volume 4 went on sale.  

Since Tokyo is too far for me, I could not go see it, but it seems many people went to watch it in person during the screening period, so I was nervous the whole time.  

After the release of volume 4, it was used as a TV commercial, so I watched that while feeling excited!

And then, goods featuring Miyagi and Sendai were also released.

In addition to the book cover and frontispiece illustrations, U35-sensei's specially drawn new illustrations were turned into goods, and every single one is truly beautiful and cute!  

When the goods arrived at my home, I summoned my friend N and we held an unboxing ceremony together, and it was super exciting.  

Since the talk about goods had come quite a while ago, seeing the real things made me really happy.  

Especially Miyagi, who is not the type to wear cute outfits often, so the specially drawn white dress had a special feeling to it.  

I think Sendai would have been delighted to see such a Miyagi too.

I decorate the goods around my computer, so I write Shuukura surrounded by beautiful and cute Miyagi and Sendai.  

What a happy space!  

I sometimes think how nice it would be if items closely associated with the two of them, like a crocodile tissue cover or a black cat plushie, could also be made into goods someday to make this happy space even more fulfilling.

And then, on Yancha Web, the comic adaptation by Migi Hara-sensei began!  

It is a comic adaptation that I was really looking forward to seeing made public ever since I received the name for chapter 1.  

The two of them are so expressive and cute, so I would be happy if you enjoy it together with the novel.

And amazingly, they even launched the official Shuukura X account!  

The person running it is my editor in charge.  

There will be announcements, projects, and various other things, so I would really appreciate it if you could follow it.
